The application for a full set of eyelash extensions can range anywhere from 1.5 hours up to 2 hours, depending on the set of lashes you desire. This service is a meticulous procedure that requires patience and concentration so therefore; it should not be rushed to ensure perfection. An infill can take anywhere from 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
This non-invasive procedure is pain free and very relaxing. It is so relaxing that most clients fall asleep. During the process a natural eyelash is isolated and an extension lash is glued onto your natural eyelash approximately 0.5 mm from the base of your eyelash, so neither the glue nor the synthetic lash has contact with the skin. An under-eye gel pad will be used to cover your lower lashes so that they too will also be protected from the glue.
It is very important that you come to your appointment wearing no eye makeup. You may clean your lashes with a mild, oil free cleanser but DO NOT use oil based makeup removers to clean your lashes prior to the application. DO NOT curl, tint, or perm your lashes and please, come 5-10 minutes prior to your first appointment to fill out the proper paperwork. If you wear contacts, you MUST remove prior to any eyelash extension appointments.
Eyelash Extensions can be completely customized to fit your personal taste and lifestyle. You may choose from a number of different lengths, curls, and thicknesses. To ensure that the results are exactly what you want, I will consult with you before commencing any treatment. Since each person’s natural lashes are unique in terms of strength and length, I will assess your lashes to determine what your natural lashes can support in regards to length and thickness.
Your new set of lashes can last anywhere from 2-3 weeks depending on how well you care for them after the application. Your natural lash cycle must also be taken into consideration. However, most clients require in fills every 2-3 weeks. A lash cycle is typically 25-30 days and as your natural lashes grow and fall out, so will the synthetic ones. You new look can be maintained indefinitely with refills; that are recommended to keep your lashes full and fresh looking.
Touch-ups, also known as refills, are recommended every 2 to 3 weeks depending on your natural lash growth cycle and daily activities. Touch-ups are necessary to replenish the lashes that have completed their life cycle. If you wait too long your Eyelash Extensions will fall out and you will require a new full set.
Absolutely not! The health and condition of your natural lashes are of the utmost importance as they are the “platform” for eyelash extensions. When properly applied there is no risk to your natural lashes. They should be seamless, weightless, and clump-free to ensure they last for weeks. Our eyelashes have their own shedding life cycle similar to eyebrows and the hairs on your head. So, do not be alarmed if a few natural lashes fall out along with the extensions. This is very natural. Be sure to not pick at, pull, or play with your new lashes to help extend the life of the extensions.
They add definition to the eye, making your eyes appear younger and full of life (some ladies say it’s like an instant eyelift!) They reduce time involved in your beauty routine and absolutely add confidence to your look.
One of the benefits of Eyelash Extensions is that your lashes will look longer, darker, and fuller so the reality is that you will not need to use mascara. However, if so desired only water based mascara is suitable, and only by applying it to the eyelash tips. Do not apply mascara near the base of the eyelashes. Do not use oil-based or waterproof mascara. Other types of make-up (shadow, liner, pencils etc.) can be used if they too are oil free. Please remember to remove your make-up properly with oil free remover afterwards.
Eyelash extensions are suitable for most people however; maintaining the health of your natural lash is of the utmost importance. Natural lashes are the platform for eyelash extensions. So unfortunately extensions will not be suitable for someone who has no natural eyelashes, if a person has a pre-existing eyelid or eye conditions such as blepharitis and ocular rosacea or a have a condition called Trichotillomania, which is compulsive pulling or twisting of hair or eyelashes.
